SH6000 Series High Performance Control Valves

SH6000 series hogh performance single seated cage-style control valves are our introduction of German KSNS Company advanced technology. More and more customers have accepted their beautiful shapes, predominant performances and economic maintenance costs. This selection handbook firstly together describes the design thoughts, structural specialties and appliance characteristics of SH6000 series. Then separately recommends standard specifications, suitable range, standard combinations, selective points and so on about every SH6000 series’ type.

SH6000 series can be used for gas, liquid, slurry, power, and granule fluids in oil, chemical, power station, food, pharmaceutical, paper and pulp, metallurgy, air-condition, water processing industries and so on.

Norminal Size from DN15-DN400, Norminal pressure from ANSI150-ANSI2500.

SH6000 series have various trims to meet the needs of diffetent conditions.

STD type, Tadiation fin tye, cryogenic type, bellow type bonnet options.

PTFE V ring compound, graphite compound, graphite packing options.

PTFE-soft seat sealing with back-up O-ring and metal-to-metal sealing options.

Optional: SA series multi-spring diaphragm actuator, IE series intelligent electric actuator, PSL series electric actuator.

 

Aims of Developing SH6000 series

Guarantee Reliability

Most of our valves failures occurred during first period when assembly in our company instead of during second period when operation in customers’ control system. After first period, our valves failures almost elimination during normal working time until wear period coming when valves must be examined and rapaired or replaced.

Intergrative and exvellent quack-proof behaviour

The positioner/solenoid valve and so on can be integrated on SA series actuator with pipeless. This design can improve valve vibration resistant and running reliability.

 

Conventional control valve is like a chrismas tree. All accessories are connected to actuator through external pipe. It has bad rigidity and big space requirement.

Structural Specialty of SH6000 series

Packing sealing

The standard maintenance-free PTFE-V-ring packing with a micro sealing element

To fuarantee the sealing performance at very lo4w pressures, the PTFE-V  ring packing set is preloaded by a corrosion resistant spring. In normal operation the sealing lips are pressed againt the stem and the packing bore relative to the fluid pressure.

To resist the internal pressure resulting from alternating operating conditions the V ring set is made of different compounds. The bottom base ring in the V ring set acts as wiper and just allows a special elastomer material. Its distance from the top wiper ring is equal to the maximum stroke length. When the stem moves to the closed position some stain may pass the wiper ring, however, it will never approach the micro sealing element

 

 

Graphite stuffing box

A reliable and safe packing assembly requires a well-proportioned compression of the entire set of graphite packings. The screwed styffing box transfers the compressive load to each packing. This is similar to the hydrostatic principle of pressure distribution in a fluid. To achieve a steady homogeneous compression of all packing, the lower rings must be compressed more than upper ones during assembly. To achieve this we adopt special pre-loading device which can be activated by the actuator.

 

 

Bellows Seal Bonnet

Sealing bellows are available for process fluids when stem leakage can’t be tolerated at all (e.g.toxic fluids). The pressure-proof and elastic stainless steel bellows is tightly seal-welded to the valve stem and upper adapter ring. For safety reasons the construction includes a standard stem sealing as  back-up in case of bellows failure.

 

Bonnet Extension for Cryogenic Service

The cryogenic service’s valve plug and stem extension are double guided. The bottom guiding is located right below the valve seat. This guarantees a reliable sealing performance, a vibration-free guiding of the plug, and an easy replacement of the guide busing. Each part which is subject to wear can be individually replaced. The seat is axially restrained by the retaining cage and the top flange. The seat is axially restrained by the retaining cage and the top flange. The bonnet extension prevents icing of the packing area. The thin walls of the insulation column and of the stem extension allow only a very low conductive heat flow. The bonnet extension length is based on customer requirements.

 

Trim styles

STP&HTP Parabolic Plug

Metal-seated quick-change able trim combination. Insensitive to impurities with low cavitation design. Fast and easy to maintenance due to its rotational symmetry.

STP Parabolic Plug With Soft Sealing and Secondary Metal to Metal Sealing

Soft-seated quick-change able trim combination. The PTFE-soft sealing (for unrestricted use on both sides) is flexibly supported by an additional Elastomer O-ring. The secondary metal to metal sealing of plug and seat ring ensures the PTFE-ring is not plastically deformed by excessive loads when the plug reaches its final closed position.

SDP&HDP Double Guiding Parabolic Plug

Metal-seated quick-change able trim combination with top and bottom guiding. This double guiding construction stabilizes stem and plug over the full travel range. Therefore, it is recommended for high pressure drop applications. The bottom guiding is located right below the seat ring and can be easily replaced. Most conventional body designs with top and bottom guided trim have a bolted bottom flange which reguires an extra body gasket plus the risk of additional extrernal leakage.

SBP&HBP Balanced Trim

Valves with balanced trims reguire much lower control forces than valves without balancing. They are also characterized by high sealing performance. As sealing elements we offer:

1. Metallic piston rings

2. Elastomer Quadrings with PTFE support

3. Pure graphite rings

 

 

SCN&HCN Perforated Low Noise

Both side usable Metal-seat, quick-changeable perforated plug combine with unique perforated low noise cage. High performance to Resist the damage caused by cavitation or vibration. And the noise level is also considerably reduced by 20-30dBA.

 

 

STP&HTP Excellent Wear Resistant Trim

Meterial 9Cr18Mov ( 1.4112) which can be hardened to >58 Rockwell C and other harder alloys or special ceramics for extreme applications on request (hardened up to 2000/2600 HVI).

General Design of Soft Sealing

Innovative Design of SH6000 Series Soft Sealing

   

Output thrust of actuator whole acts on soft seat. Sealing performance will be poor while the thrust is too smaill, and the seat will be crushed to invalidation when it is too big.

Seat seal adopts double seal structure: PTFE-Soft sealing and Metal-to-Metal Sealing. The secondary metal-to metal esakong of plug and seat ring ensures tha the soft isn’t plastically deformed by excessive loads.

General Design of Double Guiding

Double guiding construction stabilizes stem and plug over the full travel range. It is recommended for high pressure drop applications. Most conventional body designs Four-flange structure having a bolted bottom flange which reguires an extra body gasket plus the risk of additional external leakage.

 

Innovative Design of SH6000 Series Double Guiding

Body adopts Three-flange structure. The bottom guiding is located right below the seat ring and can be easily replaced. It effectively solve possibility of bottom flange seal leakage and of impurity aggradations. It is characterized by compact body, easy and smooth flow.

General Design of trim hardening treatment

Innovative Design of SH6000 Series trim hardening treatment

Plug and stem adopting stellite full surface have poor machining behaviors. Stem is easy to crack and part. In addition, the hardness below 45 Rockwell C results in ill wear-resisting

Multiple meterial options. 9Cr18Mov (1.4112) which can be hardened to > 58 Rockwell C and other harder alloys or special ceramics for extreme applications on request (hardened up to 2000/2600 HVI). It has good machining properties, fine toughness and high wear resistant.

General Design of clamping diaphragm

Conventional design easily causes clamping diaphragm to be wrinkled and deformed. The diaphragm has short lifetime and bif possibility of leakage.

Innovative Design of SH6000 Series clamping diaphragm

The diaphragm is primely placed on machining surface between two diapharagm casings. The design can stop leakage from ametabolic diaphragm.

General Design of Actuator Stem Guiding and sealing

Dust particles can easily enter into guiding gap due to Sealed by O-ring. It would be bring on damages of actuator stem.

The structural design can ensure reliably sealing and no dust particles entering.

Reverse of SA Series Actuator Direction Action

The actuator is easily reversible without the need of disassembly. You can loose all lock nuts at top and bottom of the diaphragam casings, then reverse the diaphragam casings and lock.
